2019 № 2 The social significance of chronic hepatitis C drug treatment
The article presents epidemiological data on viral hepatitis, the burden of disease of this pathology and outlines the policy of the World Health Organization (WHO) to control it. A comparison of clinical recommendations on the pharmacotherapy of chronic hepatitis C (CHC) published by the WHO and some other international organizations, as well as adopted in Russia, were carried out. The main vector in the treatment of CHC currently is use of direct-acting antiviral medicines, providing the possibility of almost complete cure of this disease. Provision of the access to the modern pharmacotherapy for all patients in need is the priority in most countries, including Russia. The opportunity to eliminate CHC could have significant positive economic and social effects.

2019 № 4 Amendments to the Federal law “On the basics of public health in the Russian Federation” on matters of clinical guidelines: what to do and what to expect medical organizations
The article deals with an analysis of certain provisions of the legislation on health care in connection with the changes made to the Federal law “on the basics of public health in the Russian Federation” on clinical guidelines.” In the context of the adopted changes, the authors consistently and clearly justify the obligation of medical organizations to comply with both the standards of medical care and the current clinical recommendations (treatment protocols). The sig- nificantly increased role of criteria for assessing the quality of medical care, approved by the Ministry of health of Russia, is emphasized and justified.

Recently, the standards of care are constantly subjected to criticism from clinicians, but are protected by the professionals working in the enforcement agencies, insurance medical institutions, funds of CMI. The article pro- vides additional arguments about the voluntary application of standards. These arguments will help leaders of health organizations and practitioners to understand the complex conflict
